Central Nervous System Tumors Can Be Rapidly Molecularly Profiled during Surgery

Major Finding: An intraoperative sequencing workflow provides rapid turnaround of comprehensive molecular profiling of central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Concept: Methylation profile and DNA copy number information is available within 30 minutes, and comprehensive molecular profiles are returned the next day to aid diagnosis and surgical decisions. Impact: This study proposes that implementation of Rapid-CNS2 and MNP-Flex may be an accessible, rapid resource for guiding personalized CNS tumor treatment.
