Structure and Validation of the Methodology for Diagnosing the Personal Self-Readiness
The article presents a description of the development procedure and the results of validation of a method for diagnosing the I-readiness of an individual. Self-readiness is a social attitude that contributes to the effective adaptation of the individual to changes and social challenges, determines the ability to make decisions in situations of uncertainty, and the ability to build constructive interaction with Others in conditions of change. The theoretical construct of the methodology is based on an analysis of the semantic content of the concepts of psychological readiness, competence, self-efficacy and assertiveness. 344 respondents took part in the study. The empirical data were subjected to exploratory factor analysis, as a result of which a model was obtained with a simple factor structure, consisting of three factors that made up the scales of the methodology. Of the initially developed 36 items, the final version of the methodology included 18, 6 items for each scale. The model was tested using confirmatory factor analysis. Further mathematical analysis, which included the calculation of the Cronbach alpha coefficient, the establishment of correlations between the scales of the developed methodology and constructs similar in content (self-efficacy, assertiveness, resilience) showed that the methodology has good internal consistency and high convergent validity. The methodology was tested for test-retest reliability four weeks later and demonstrated the high reliability of the indicators and the stability of the measured construct. The generated scales correspond to ideas about the structure of a social attitude and make it possible to diagnose the cognitive, emotional and behavioral components of an individual's self-readiness. The total score on each scale gives an idea of the level of formation of self-readiness as a whole. The conducted research allows us to state that the technique has good psychometric properties and is easy to use due to its brevity and uniform distribution of items across the scales.
