Resección transanal de perineuroma rectal: Un tumor raro en una localización inusual
Colorectal perineuriomas are benign mesenchymal tumors, with an incidence ranging from 0.1% to 1.4%. They typically present as sessile polyps or subepithelial tumors. The endoscopic features of perineurioma are not specific, and the diagnosis is based on histological and immunohistochemical analysis. This case involves a 53-year-old patient who presented with intermittent episodes of painless rectal bleeding. A colonoscopy revealed a neoplastic-appearing lesion protruding into the intestinal lumen, with biopsies negative for malignancy. The patient underwent a full-thickness transanal resection of the lesion, and the histopathological study of the resected sample showed a poorly defined proliferation of spindle cells without atypia, confined to the mucosa. Immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis showed reactivity to epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), GLUT-1, and Claudin-1, and negativity for S100, AML, and CD34. These findings were consistent with rectal perineuroma.
