Influence of Lithium Bromide and Titanium Dioxide Filler on Dielectric, Optical, and Electrical Properties of Polymethyl Methacrylate and Polyaniline Nanocomposites for Flexible Electronic Devices

ABSTRACT Using varying weight percentages of lithium bromide and titanium dioxide (LiBr/TiO 2 ) as filler, poly(Methyl Methacrylate) (PMMA) and polyaniline (PANI) blend‐matrix nanocomposites based on LiBr/TiO 2 were created using the ultrasonication‐assisted solution casting technique. According to the X‐ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, the LiBr/TiO 2 nanofiller loading significantly improves the amorphous character of the PMMA/PANI mix polymer matrix. An interaction between the PMMA/PANI blend and the LiBr/TiO 2 filler was validated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis. The direct and indirect band gaps shrank as the concentration of LiBr/TiO 2 increased, according to the Ultraviolet–Visible (UV–Vis) absorption spectra. There was also a red shift toward the longer wavelength in the UV–Vis spectra. By adding 3.5 wt.% of LiBr/TiO 2 , the y gap direct and indirect of PMMA/PANI was significantly reduced from 3.91 to 3.51 eV and 3.45 to 3.06 eV, respectively. The outcomes demonstrated how the filler affected the host polymer's reduced Eg. The existence of a relaxation process in the nanocomposite's conduction mechanism was demonstrated by the semicircles in the Cole–Cole plot. According to the experimental findings in this work, adjusting the LiBr/TiO 2 filler content is essential to creating dependable nanocomposites for flexible electronic devices.
