A STUDY ON TREND ANALYSIS OF REVENUE AND PROFITABILITY OF ICICI BANK LTD, HYDERABAD

This study delves into the trend analysis of revenue and profitability of ICICI Bank Ltd., focusing on two pivotal financial metrics: Ratio Analysis and Trend Analysis. The research spans a five-year period, from 2020–2021 to 2024–2025, providing a comprehensive evaluation of the bank's financial performance. Ratio analysis serves as a critical tool in assessing the financial health of an organization. In the context of ICICI Bank, key profitability ratios such as Net Profit Margin and Return on Equity(ROE) have been examined. The findings indicate a significant decline in the net profit margin from 157% in 2020–2021 to 0.36% in 2024–2025, suggesting a reduction in the bank's efficiency in converting sales into actual profit. Conversely, the Return on Equity (ROE) ratio improved from 15.9% in FY23 to 17.4% in FY24, reflecting enhanced shareholder value generation. Trend analysis involves evaluating financial data over time to identify patterns and growth trajectories. The study highlights a consistent upward trend in ICICI Bank's revenue, with net sales increasing from ₹587.73 billion in 2020–2021 to ₹1,257.2 billion in 2024–2025. However, despite the growth in revenue, the profitability metrics have shown a declining trend, indicating potential challenges in cost management and operational efficiency.
