Very rare synchronous malignant tumors of the Prostate: Leiomyosarcoma and adenocarcinoma – A case report and literature review
Prostatic sarcoma accounts for 0.7 % of primary prostatic tumors, with leiomyosarcoma being the most common type (25 %). One-third of patients present with metastatic disease at diagnosis, and its expected behavior is that of an aggressive tumor. Additionally, the synchronous coexistence of two different primary tumors in the prostate is extremely rare in the literature. We present the case of a patient with two synchronous, distinct primary prostate malignancies: acinar adenocarcinoma and leiomyosarcoma. To our knowledge, this association has been reported in only two cases. Due to its rarity, there aren't standardized treatment guidelines, and its management requires a multidisciplinary approach.
