Systematic Study of Cataract Detection Using Fundus Images
The gradual clouding of the eye lens with advancement of age that leads to deterioration of vision is called Cataract. Aside from aging, Cataract can be caused due to various eye problems. Cataract is a leading cause of blindness worldwide but majority of that can be prevented with early detection and treatment. This review paper aims to consolidate the latest research which has taken place in recent years in the field of Cataract detection and provide an accurate and up to date assessment of the state of progress in this field. Fundus images has proven to be best data that can be used to develop a model that offers best results. They provide higher accuracy in comparison to other images and Convolutional Neural Network models that are developed to be custom made for fundus images provide better accuracy than even some state-of-art models. No new model or algorithm is proposed in this article.
