Simulation study of stabilization control strategies for photovoltaic microgrid
The intermittent and fluctuating characteristics of renewable energy power generation, coupled with the dynamic change of load in the microgrid, easily lead to output power shortage and direct current (DC) bus voltage instability. As the flywheel energy storage system (FESS) has fast response speed and millions of charge/discharge cycle life, it can effectively suppress the instantaneous power fluctuation, while the battery, through its high energy density characteristics, undertakes the task of balancing the supply and demand of long-time power, and the two form a complementary synergistic control strategy, so as to smooth out the instability of the photovoltaic (PV) microgrid. In this paper, Matlab/Simulink is used to simulate the whole system, which verifies that the hybrid flywheel and battery energy storage has a good application prospect in maintaining the stability of the PV microgrid, and provides a valuable path for solving the stability of distributed energy grid connection.
