Comparative Analysis of Design Techniques for Compact Microstrip Patch Antenna to Enhance Bandwidth for 5G Applications at 28 GHz
Aim: The purpose this study involves to designing and optimizing a compact high-performance millimeter-wave 5G communication antenna that provide high bandwidth, gain and efficiency. Materials and Methods: Group 1: In this research, a two element antenna array is designed with inset fed and DGS is used to improve the antenna performance. The measurements are based on the dimensions of the antenna (Dimensions length: 3.6 mm, width: 4.3 mm, thickness: 1.57 mm) and the specifics of the substrate material, Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 (Dielectric Constant: 2.2). Group 2: The designed antenna is compared with conventional inset fed single element antenna. Results: The microstrip patch antenna array has significantly higher bandwidth than inset fed single microstrip antenna. The frequency range from 27 GHz to 40 GHz.
