Assessment of Wireless Chargers for Modern Electric Vehicle

For over 200 years, electricity has been studied and developed for various applications. It has become an indispensable source of energy in the daily life of society: communication, driving multiple types of appliances and industrial equipment, heating, lighting, and mobility. Due to the intensity of demand growth within the overall energy sector, pollution issues have risen because of the enormous amount of generated energy from conventional energy resources. Thus, environmentally friendly energy resources are required in all sectors to reduce atmospheric pollution for traditional energy generation. The mobility sector has adopted different ecologically friendly transportation systems, such as electric vehicles (EVs). EV proves its capacity to effectively challenge the carbon dioxide that negatively affects the earth. One of the advantages of modern EVs is the ability to minimise atmospheric pollution in both the transportation and power sectors. Therefore, this paper assesses one of the powerhouse conversion devices that connects EVs to the grid. This is a powerless charger device. The paper also describes the challenges and opportunities of modern EV powerless battery chargers. Thus, this work will serve as a guideline for hierarchical control and estimation techniques modelling for EV application in innovative grid environments.
