Investigating the Influence of Cs-Based Perovskite Active Layer Thickness on Photovoltaic Parameters
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are highly efficient and reasonably priced and provide a possible path toward sustainable energy generation. This study investigates how variations in absorber layers affect PSC performance with the purpose of promoting scalability, stability, and efficiency in the context of sustainable development goals (SDGs) including clean, cheap energy, industry, innovation, and infrastructure. Thin-film photovoltaic technology encompasses Cs-based PSCs in this study. Optimizing the light absorption, charge transport, and recombination dynamics inside the CdS/TiO2/Cs2AgBiBr6 / CsSnBr3/CuSCN device structure is the goal of approximating the thickness of the active layers. The device is simulated with the help of the solar cell capacitance simulator-1D (SCAPS-1D). By simulating the active layers throughout an appropriate range and analysing how they impact the PV characteristics of the device, such as VOC, JSC, FF, and PCE, it is possible to determine the ideal thickness regimes that will maximize PCE while maintaining stability. The optimization of the designed solar cell is done on high thickness of A2 and low thickness of A1. The optimized result of the it as follow; VOC: 1.035 V, JSC: 42.067 mA/cm3, FF: 86.9 % and PCE: 37.82%.
