Real-Time Student’s Emotion Recognition
Facial expressions are important in expressing human emotions. They play a key role in effective communication. Existing emotion detection methods often face challenges in accurately recognizing facial expressions in real-world situations. Challenges mainly occur due to emotion detection in real-time and multiple faces in the image. It hinders sentiment analysis in live events, customer feedback analysis in retail settings, and emotion-awareness systems in human-computer interaction. The need for efficient emotion detection systems capable of handling multiple faces simultaneously is required to enhance user experience. Advancement in the development of humanoid robots requires the ability to interpret human emotions. The study explores CNNs’ application to the identification of facial expressions. It is a type of deep-learning technology. The traditional methods often struggle with latency, accuracy, and scalability. The CNN model employs the use of specialized layers to extract essential facial features by utilizing a haar cascade classifier for face detection. It detects seven primary emotions neutral, fear, sad, happy, surprised, disgust, and angry. It can even work on multiple faces. The accuracy obtained was 77.83%. The system addresses the limitations of existing emotion detection methods. Furthermore, the system facilitates real-time emotion analysis. The study proposes a method to enhance classroom instruction through artificial intelligence (AI) emotion- recognition techniques. Deep learning algorithms are used to customize and develop student-centered, adaptive educational systems. The model allows instructors to visualize students’ emotional states, enabling an environment focused on students’ growth. It also facilitates adaptive learning strategies tailored to individual needs. The model significantly advances data-driven educational methodologies and adaptive learning systems.
