Donation Based Crowdfunding Application
The use of crowdfunding to generate money for different causes has grown in popularity. It is used for charitable causes, creative projects, and other non-profit initiatives. The crowdfunding application developed without blockchain uses intermediaries to connect backers and creators. The dependency on intermediaries causes the challenges like lack of transparency, mutability, centralized authority and high fees. It makes difficult for donors to know how their money is being used. Integrating blockchain technology in the platforms can address the above mentioned challenges. In the study, a blockchain-based crowdfunding system based on donations is proposed. Blockchain provides the method of recording transactions and monitoring assets. The proposed system is able to provide features like transparency, immutability, decentralization etc. It makes more secure and efficient option for managing donations using smart contract. A smart contract securely and publicly records all computer transactions performed over a network. It is programmed with the terms of the agreement and releases funds only when specific conditions are met. Blockchain technology enables peer-to-peer transactions without the need of intermediaries. It reduces transaction cost and minimizes the risk of fraud or mismanagement. The system provides clear accountability and transparency for donors. It ensures their contributions are used as intended.
