Smote Analysis and Bankruptcy Data Equalisation Machine Learning Applications Using Classification Methodology

Accurately predicting bankruptcy is crucial in ensuring the stability of economic systems within the field of financial risk assessment. A persistent challenge in this specific domain is the presence of imbalanced datasets, where the frequency of bankruptcy cases is considerably lower compared to instances reflecting non-bankrupt scenarios. This study aims to investigate the use of the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) in combination with the CatBoost classification algorithm. The main goal is to achieve data equalisation and enhance bankruptcy prediction. The utilisation of the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) algorithm in combination with the CatBoost algorithm efficiently capitalises on the distinct characteristics and benefits provided by each technique. The Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) is a specialised approach designed to address the problem of class imbalance by creating false samples for the underrepresented class. This social approach improves the model's capacity to gather and integrate patterns from the marginalised class. The CatBoost technique is utilised to evaluate the enlarged dataset and build a dependable prediction model for the objective of bankruptcy detection. This method excels at handling categorical features and employs an efficient boosting strategy. The main goal of this research is to employ the Catboost classifier to precisely classify Bankruptcy detection. In order to achieve precision, we will employ SMOTE Analysis, a sophisticated methodology designed expressly to address the issue of unbalanced data. The research study will utilise the classification report and the confusion matrix as evaluation metrics to measure the anticipated accuracy level of 97 percent. The proposed research attempts to employ visual tools for the analysis and presentation of the data.
