Deep Learning for the Tiny World: Insect Classification using EfficientNet-B3

In this article we offer a sophisticated insect classification system using deep learning methods to classify images into ten different classes: Bees, Beetle, Butterflies, Cicada, Dragonflies, Grasshoppers, Moths, Scorpions, Snails, and Spiders. Our collection consists in ten thousand bug photos split into test, training, and validation sets with eight thousand, one thousand, and one thousand images respectively. We implemented the well-known dependability and image classification job effectiveness EfficientNet-B3 transfer learning model. Our data collection drove the design to be enhanced so that one might find complex patterns and features. We proved to have 98% percent efficiency in design. The possibilities of EfficientNet-B3 for astonishingly high accuracy in automation and efficient insect classification detection are presented in this work It advances fields of entomology and biodiversity as well. By means of inspiring innovation in research and development, maintaining life on land through biodiversity preservation, tracking insect populations to enhance climate action, and so strengthening worldwide partnerships for sustainable development, this endeavor corresponds with the Sustainable Development Goals.
