A ResNet Based Plant Disease Diagnosis Platform
Agriculture is a major pillar of the Indian economy. However, it often faces the threat of plant diseases that can significantly affect crop yield and quality. Traditional diagnostic methods largely rely on manual testing by experts; this process is time-consuming and prone to errors, especially when detecting subtle symptoms, and is therefore often impractical or impossible. In addition, many farmers in remote areas do not have easy access to experts. To overcome these challenges, there is an urgent need for scalable, reliable, and user-friendly solutions that can detect diseases early and help farmers reduce quality losses. When comparing various models such as MobileNet, Convolutional neural network and ResNet, the deep neural network approach using ResNet was suggested as a good solution. The model was published on a website that allows farmers to upload leaf images. The website analyzes these images to give fast and accurate diagnosis of possible diseases and provide farmers with timely recommendations to protect their crops and increase productivity.
