Impact of AI-Driven Signal Processing and Control System in Building Energy Efficiency and User Comfort

With a high pace of urbanization, there is an exponential increase in energy consumption. Along with this, the dire need to reduce and optimize it emerges. AI is right in time to revolutionize how buildings respond to environmental stimuli, enhance energy efficiency, and adapt spaces to user behavior. This paper explores the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) in signal processing and control systems for architectural uses within the Indian context. Taking the case of one commercial, one residential, and one public building, it compares their baseline system with an AI-enhanced system. It draws analysis based on energy consumption, maintenance costs, downtime savings, carbon emission reduction, return on investment, and payback period. The findings showcase a significant decrease in energy consumption for each type of building. Hence, the study demonstrates how AI can create more intelligent, sustainable, and responsive architectural systems, particularly addressing India's unique challenges and opportunities.
