Impact of Severe Climates on WDM-OCDMA System using ZCC and MD Codes Over Integrated Fiber-FSO Link
The increasing demand for high-speed, reliable communication has led to the exploration of Hybrid Fiber-Free Space Optical (FSO) systems as an alternative to conventional fiber-only networks. This study investigates the performance of a Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) based Hybrid Fiber-FSO system under varying turbulence conditions and power levels. The system is evaluated in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER) and Q-Factor over extraordinary fiber lengths (400m - 1200m) and FSO stages (1500m - 3500m), considering each ZCC and MD codes. The impact of atmospheric turbulence, modeled the use of Gamma-Gamma and Log-Normal distributions, is analyzed beneath susceptible, slight, and heavy turbulence eventualities. Additionally, the impact of power degrees (zero dBm, four dBm, 8 dBm, and 12 dBm) is studied. The outcomes imply that better strength stages extensively improve BER, whilst excessive turbulence degrades overall performance, requiring optimized system layout for reliability.
