Improving Healthcare Delivery Through Hybrid Integration of Blockchain and Machine Learning in Chatbot Technology
This work describes a new Healthcare Chatbot that helps users to converse securely with their doctors using Blockchain and Machine Learning Technologies. Natural language processing is employed in the chat where the bot engages the users in natural conversation with options such as setting, reset and making appointments, recommending providers, and instantly answering health questions. This work allows machine learning algorithms to evaluate the user inputs and medical data to provide better healthcare advice with increased interaction. Each time the system interacts; it becomes better in providing customized health advice and it gets better with time. Technology used is the blockchain to support data integrity, confidentiality and accountability. Consequently, the patient records and the entire conversation history remain safely protected by the decentralized storage system to limit data breach and patient data privacy such as HIPAA’s regulation (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). This also means that, when implemented, such an approach can also improve the sharing of patient information across health practitioners for better interoperability and a degree of trust. When these features are integrated the project brings a change in the overall delivery of health care services, increases productivity, decreases cost and improves the quality of patient services. What this chatbot has done is bring a proactive vision of healthcare into practice which makes patient’s experience more secure, intelligent and cost effective to providers.
