AESTHETIC HARMONIZATION OF THE SMILE IN A PATIENT WITH DENTAL AGENESIS AND PROLONGED RETENTION: DIGITAL PLANNING AND CASE REPORT

Introduction: Dental agenesis associated with prolonged retention of deciduous teeth significantly compromises the harmony of the smile and the patient's self-esteem. Minimally invasive approaches, combined with digital planning, have stood out in aesthetic rehabilitation with greater predictability and clinical control. Objective: To report a clinical case of aesthetic harmonization of the smile in an adult patient, with agenesis of the permanent upper lateral incisors and prolonged retention of deciduous canines, using digital planning, dental whitening, gingivoplasty and reanatomization with composite resin. Case Report: A 31-year-old female patient, leucoderma, presented with aesthetic complaints related to diastemas, small and dark teeth. After digital planning with 3D waxing and preparation of a palatal guide, three sessions of whitening with 35% hydrogen peroxide, gingivoplasty to regularize the gingival contour and aesthetic reanatomization of teeth 13, 23, 53 and 63 with hybrid composite resin were performed. The treatment was conducted conservatively, with emphasis on aesthetics, predictability and preservation of dental tissues. Results: The treatment resulted in significant aesthetic improvement, with closure of diastemas, restoration of dental proportion and complete patient satisfaction. The techniques applied demonstrated excellent functional and visual integration with natural teeth. Conclusion: The use of digital technologies associated with minimally invasive restorative techniques represents an effective, safe and affordable strategy for the aesthetic rehabilitation of cases with dental agenesis and prolonged retention.
