Adaptable Communication System for Dual IoT/IoMDT Communications
In the last years, the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of Military Defense Things (IoMDT) have become of great importance within Command Control and Consultation (C3) systems and operations. In these innovative scenarios with many communicating devices, one telecommunication system able to ensure: flexibility, adaptability, transmission capacity, security, resilience and interoperability of the several communication technologies, has a crucial role. In this article, we apply the Adaptable Communication System (ACS) paradigm to define an innovative system for networking in IoT/IoMDT scenarios. In particular, we propose a mesh communication network whose core element is the Dual ACS Gateway (DACS-GW) to provide the seamless and intelligent integration of wireless and wired technologies. We have shown that the proposed solution can be used to realize IoT/IoMDT operational systems which are compliant with the ITU IoT reference model.
