Decentralized and Dynamic Self-Sovereign Identity and Attribute-Based Access Control System for Privacy Management
Rapid proliferation of data has revolutionized various sectors, such as smart cities, healthcare, and smart homes. Many devices in these areas exchange sensitive and private data. However, because of their connectivity to the Internet, many of these devices are susceptible to hacking and tampering attacks. Additionally, prevalent attacks aim to modify your settings, alter your behavior, and deplete your resources. Access control solutions play a significant role in enabling many systems to effectively mitigate these attacks and maintain the necessary level of security. We suggest a model named Decentralized and Dynamic Self Sovereign Identity – Attribute Based Access Control (DDSSI-ABAC) that combines Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) to attain distributed and granular access control when sharing data in a cloud environment. The DDSSI-ABAC framework and the associated design principles we propose will establish a robust foundation for achieving the privacy and secrecy of the data in the cloud.
