Cultural Wisdom in Fashion Design Learning: Bibliometric Meta-Analysis of Educational Trends
The development of the fashion industry in the era of globalization demands the alignment of trends with cultural identity, highlighting the importance of culturally grounded learning in fashion design education. This study aims to explore the integration of local cultural elements into the fashion design education curriculum and to assess its impact on learning through a bibliometric analysis. The method employed is a bibliometric analysis based on data from the Scopus database, focusing on publications related to fashion design and education. The search yielded 100 documents, which were analyzed to identify publication trends, author and institutional productivity, and the most frequently cited articles. The analysis reveals an average annual growth rate of 14.9%, indicating increasing scholarly attention to this topic within the global academic community. The five most productive authors and institutions were identified, with major contributions coming from countries such as China, South Korea, and the United States. The study concludes that there is significant potential for integrating local cultural values into fashion design learning processes, which can be further enhanced through the support of modern technologies. The implications of these findings highlight the need for adaptive and sustainable curriculum development to address global challenges while preserving cultural relevance and identity in fashion education.
