Excision of complete rib for fibrous dysplasia using video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery
Fibrous dysplasia is a benign condition which can present as monostotic or polyostotic form. The monostotic form is the common form affecting ribs in majority of cases. In symptomatic patients, excision is recommended. Open excision of rib is associated with morbidity and scar; we describe a case report where the rib excision has been performed using video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery.
