THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION ON PEDAGOGICAL AP- PROACHES AND COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES IN LEGAL EDUCATION

Globalization is rapidly transforming not only the economy and politics, but also the structure of legal education, necessitating a new approach to teaching. These changes are particularly evident in the areas of communication strategies and intercultural interaction in the classroom. The aim of this study is to identify key shifts in pedagogical approaches and communication models employed in law schools under the influence of globalization, with a focus on the challenges and prospects specific to Ukraine. The study is methodologically grounded in content analysis of international educational practices, empirical data from the Law School Survey of Student Engagement (LSSSE), thematic structuring of pedagogical innovations, and a comparative analysis of Ukraine's experience in adapting to global standards. Several fundamental trends have been identified, directly aligning with the study’s analytical objectives. Leading law schools worldwide are actively adopting new pedagogical formats that shift the emphasis from traditional instruction to interdisciplinary learning, integrated with digital technologies, clinical practice elements, simulations, and case analysis. This article systematizes these developments, noting that such transformations are accompanied by the introduction of specialized courses in communication, soft skills, and cross-cultural dialogue – areas that were previously marginal in legal education. The findings indicate a persistent gap between the global demand for communicative competence and the actual content of educational programs, even in advanced legal systems. The analysis of the Ukrainian context reveals that legal education in Ukraine shows a selective, fragmented adoption of global trends, largely driven by external donors or international initiatives. However, Ukraine possesses a structural foundation for transformation, including updated educational standards, the launch of master’s programs with an international component, and mechanisms for academic mobility. Nevertheless, institutional modernization remains unsustainable without a coherent national policy, clearly defined qualification requirements, and consistent state support. The scientific novelty of this article lies in its comprehensive and systematic exploration of global changes in pedagogical approaches within legal education, integrated with an analysis of the Ukrainian case in the context of war and European integration. The conclusions stress that without modernized communication strategies, legal education cannot adequately respond to current challenges. Openness to multiculturalism, adaptability, and practice-oriented learning are essential for high-quality legal training.
