Fault Detection and Monitoring in Microgrids using Intelligent Controllers and Synchrophasor Integration
Enhancing energy sustainability and resilience can be accomplished practically with microgrids. Grid instability and inefficiencies may result from inadequate fault identification and monitoring. Because traditional management tactics often fail to respond to changing environmental conditions and load changes, the intelligent controller emphasizes the need for a more flexible and astute approach. This paper proposes an integrated strategy that combines synchronous phasor technology (ST), fuzzy logic controllers (FLCs), and phasor measurement units (PMUs) to address these problems. The objective is to create and implement an all-inclusive system for efficient microgrid fault monitoring and detection.A battery energy storage (BES) system controlled by an FLC and a solar photovoltaic (PV) system are integrated into the system through modeling using MATLAB/Simulink.
