The loss-minimization control of a vehicle permanent magnet synchronous motor with Variable voltage control
This paper first establishes a control model that does not require precise tuning of the iron loss resistance and designs an integral sliding mode controller in the speed loop to output a q-axis current component with good dynamic characteristics. Second, the paper proposes a control method for a variable DC-link voltage, actively and dynamically controlling the bus voltage applied to the inverter via a DC/DC converter. This ensures it tracks the motor’s speed and improves inverter efficiency. Finally, the paper considers both inverter and motor losses to develop a minimum-loss control method for vehicle permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) with iron loss.
