Overview of research on permanent magnet synchronous power generation system
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) has the advantages of high power density and simple structure, and has been widely used in new energy power generation, electric vehicles and other fields. However, taking new energy power generation as an example, due to the uncontrollability of natural energy such as wind energy and ocean current energy, the output voltage amplitude and frequency of PMSG change synchronously with the wind speed and ocean current velocity, and rectification devices need to be introduced to achieve stable power output. This paper first summarizes the three types of rectifier topology in the current permanent magnet synchronous power generation system, and analyzes the advantages of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) rectifier compared with thyristor rectifier and Direct Current (DC)-DC chopper after uncontrollable rectifier, such as low harmonic conten, unit power factor operation, adjustable output DC voltage, and bidirectional energy flow; Secondly, the current application status of PMSG-PWM power generation system is summarized and analyzed in detail, focusing on the research progress in the field of wind power generation and electric vehicles; Finally, the possible research focus of PMSG-PWM power generation system in the future is pointed out.
