Research on the Strategy for Reducing Distribution Network Line Overload Rate Based on Virtual Power Plant Resource Pool

With the rapid development of renewable energy, distribution networks are facing issues such as load fluctuations. At the same time, due to the volatility and instability of renewable energy, there is an urgent need for virtual power plant resources to participate in the regulation of distribution networks. However, the wide variety of virtual power plant resources introduces significant uncertainty during their application. To address this issue, this paper proposes a strategy for reducing line overload rates in distribution networks based on virtual power plant resource pools. The strategy sets selection criteria by considering line loads and virtual power plant resources, thereby identifying suitable resource pools. Through the processes of scoring, ranking, and selecting the resource pool, the optimal virtual power plant resource pool is assigned to each line, further optimizing the line overload rates in the distribution network. Numerical studies based on a 33-node low-voltage distribution network model validate the feasibility of this strategy in reducing line overload rates.
