Design and Development of a Novel Volume-Gated Syringe for Precise Dosage Control and Data Logging

Medication errors are one of the leading causes of avoidable harm, often due to manual miscalculations and improper drug administration. This paper presents an advanced syringe system designed for precise drug delivery and automated dosage documentation. The system integrates safety features to eliminate human errors and improve accountability in medical practices. It uses a D1 Mini V2 NodeMCU microcontroller and a VL53L4CD Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors for volume measurement to ensure accurate operation. A slider mechanism ensures precise control of the position of the piston. In addition, a mobile application allows physicians to view detailed dosage data for every syringe they use. This design aims to improve patient safety and provide healthcare professionals with reliable tools for precise treatment.
