A Study of Three-Phase Integrated Battery Charger Based on Six-Phase Open-Winding Machine
This paper proposes a non-isolated three-phase integrated battery charger based on a six-phase open-winding machine drive system (6OWMDS). The charging system is constructed by directly connecting the three-phase AC power supply to the midpoint of the motor windings, without the need for mechanical switches (relays) or modifications to the stator windings. The operation of opening the neutral point evenly divides the stator windings into two parts, and when current flows into these two parts, it generates two rotating magnetic fields in opposite directions that cancel out the torque. This paper analyzes the behavior of the motor during the charging process and provides the system topology and mathematical model. Simulation experimental results are provided to verify the theoretical analysis.
