Genetic Algorithm-Based Integrated Radar and Communication OFDM Shared Signal Waveform Design
This study addresses the performance degradation in radar detection caused by communication data interference in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM)-based integrated radar-communication shared signals, particularly the reduction in the peak-to-sidelobe ratio (PSLR). To mitigate this issue, we propose a genetic algorithm (GA) joint signal-encoding approach. The method employs a fitness function, which is defined as the summation of autocorrelation sidelobe peaks and cross-correlation peaks, to optimize phase-modulated sequences with superior correlation properties. By implementing precoding on the communication data prior to the transmission of integrated signals, the proposed method enhances the ambiguity function performance of the radar communication system. The simulation results demonstrate that the GA-driven encoding scheme achieves significantly improved sidelobe suppression in ambiguity diagrams compared to conventional encoding strategies.
