Enhancing Military Surveillance: Applying State-of-the-Art Deep Learning Techniques for Improved Aviation Identification

The development of smaller air and space technology, such drones and micro satellites, has revolutionized military surveillance by enabling more agile, severe, and effective operations. Even if they work well, traditional surveillance methods aren't precise, quick, or adaptable enough for modern military uses. Recent developments in deep learning, particularly in the areas of transformer-based topologies and convolutional neural networks (CNNs), have made it possible to overcome these limitations. The efficiency and accuracy of aircraft detection in real-time are significantly increased by this study's enhancement of a fundamental unique technique called Aviontix, which mixes and decides CNNs with transformer-based deep learning architectures. Because Aviontix is power-efficient and environmentally sensitive, it helps to overcome significant operational constraints, particularly for small, airborne vehicles. Additionally, a real-time database-integrated recognition system based on the VGG16 deep learning architecture is shown in this paper using transfer learning on a dataset of 7,500 pictures of 26 different airplanes. This system has exceptional recognition accuracy with a mean average accuracy of 96% on live inputs and confidence levels ranging from 78.54% to 100%. The proposed method is in line with "final area" defense concepts and enhances defense capabilities for military applications by enhancing detection, reaction, and resistance against a range of aerial threats. By combining CNNs, transformer models, and transfer learning, Aviontix sets the standard for military surveillance, where more capability and accuracy are essential. This opens the door for future applications in smaller systems, with an emphasis on enhanced detection accuracy and robustness in challenging environments, which increases effectiveness in radar operations and related activities. It also emphasizes the critical role that cutting-edge deep learning plays in military aerospace.
