Research on Active Management Architecture of Charging Load in Residential Areas Compatible with Disordered Charging Piles and Assessment Method of Access Capacity
With the continuous growth of the ownership of electric vehicles, the charging load poses a potential threat to the stable operation of the distribution network. However, most of the existing studies have focused on the management of coordinated charging piles, while there are relatively little research on the management of uncoordinated charging piles. To address this issue, this paper proposes an active management architecture for the charging load in residential areas that is compatible with uncoordinated charging piles. The coordinated piles are directly connected to the local control unit, and the uncoordinated piles are connected via the pile-end control unit. Under the strategy of the local control unit, both of them can achieve the coordinated charging function. Meanwhile, a quantitative evaluation model for the access potential of charging piles based on the dynamic programming algorithm has been constructed. Taking the situation of a typical community in Tianjin as an example for case analysis, the impacts of factors such as the load rate, the ratio of charging piles to households, the charging power, and the electricity demand on the access capacity of charging piles have been studied. The results show that the access capacity of the controlled uncoordinated piles after transformation is significantly improved compared with that before transformation, achieving an increase of 235% when the load rate is 30%. Moreover, as the load rate continues to increase, the access capacity of the controlled uncoordinated piles has stronger stability. In addition, the single charging amount is a key influencing factor for the access capacity of various types of charging piles. When the electricity amount is relatively large, configuring appropriate high-power charging piles can have a better access capacity. Based on the current conditions of the community and combined with the development trend of electricity demand, this research provides effective solutions and evaluation methods for community charging load management.
