A computationally efficient privacy-preserving authenticated key agreement scheme for TMIS Based on ECC

Due to the rapid growth in information technology, it becomes feasible for patients to access the real time medical services using telecare medical information system (TMIS) without visiting the hospital via internet. Patients’ sensitive medical reports transmitted via public channels may entice intruders to carry out malicious operations on these reports. Thus, highly important factors in the TMIS domain are patient privacy and security of their medical reports during transmission and storage. Despite many privacy-preserving authenticated key agreement protocols have been introduced by numerous researchers, these protocols still suffer from various security and performance issues. Thus, we present an efficient privacy-preserving mutual authenticated key agreement scheme (MAKAS) for TMIS in this paper. Security verification demonstrates that the security mechanism of our presented work is strong enough to withstand cryptographic attacks. Computation and communication cost analysis demonstrate that our work yields more efficient results than related works.
