Imaging features of Whipples disease: Fat-containing mesenteric lymphadenopathy and jejunal mucosal fold thickening
Whipple's disease is a rare systemic infection caused by Tropheryma whipplei, characterized by nonspecific gastrointestinal symptoms, joint pain, and weight loss. We report a case initially misdiagnosed as sarcoidosis, where imaging (CT and endoscopy) and histological analysis (PAS-positive duodenal macrophages) provided essential clues for diagnosis, highlighting the importance of radiologic findings in differentiating Whipple's disease from other granulomatous conditions.
