Slag base of ilmenite-carbonate-fluorite type flux-cored wire electrode
This paper presents the results of research on the creation of slags for welding and surfacing flux-cored wire electrodes based on mineral raw materials from the Far Eastern region. In the development of slags, theoretical and experimental statistical methods based on the calculation of thermodynamic properties of slags and the construction of mathematical models of the composition-property system were used to determine the rational composition of the charge components. Using the developed methodology, the composition of the charge was selected, a preliminary calculation of the components was performed, and experimental studies were conducted to create flux-cored wire electrodes based on the obtained slag base. Experimental surfacing was performed and studies were conducted to determine the quality of the deposited metal and the operability of the slag system. According to the results of the study, it was found that the developed composition of the slag base meets the requirements of regulatory and technical documentation and can be used to create flux-cored wire electrode of the ilmenite-carbonate-fluorite type.
