In the agricultural sector, it is necessary to establish competitive production, which is exposed to existing risks due to the ambiguity of the business environment and the peculiarities of internal functioning. Abstract

In the agricultural sector, it is necessary to establish competitive production, which is exposed to existing risks due to the ambiguity of the business environment and the peculiarities of internal functioning. When solving various tasks, it is necessary to emphasize that the issue of risk should be reflected in the performance of all management functions (planning, organizational, regulatory, control, etc.). In order to increase the effectiveness of managers' activities in the field of risk management, we consider it necessary to clarify the stages of the risk management process in the activities of agricultural enterprises. In particular, before determining a risk management agency and developing a risk management program, it is necessary to assess the ultimate goal that needs to be achieved. Scientifically substantiated proposals for motivating different categories of personnel and minimizing risks. The idea is based on establishing a proportional relationship between changing the level of production risk and adjusting the income of employees responsible for this risk. The purpose of the study is to develop theoretical and methodological provisions for the effective functioning of risk management mechanisms in agricultural enterprises. Today, management adheres to the concept of acceptable risk and chooses a certain risk management method. According to this concept, risks that are unacceptable to the business are generally unacceptable. However, if the risk is not catastrophic, that is, generally acceptable, companies should be guided by the principle of economic feasibility when choosing a particular risk management method. The choice of a control method is justified only if the costs are less than the benefits of using this method. The main risks for agricultural enterprises are risks in functional areas (production, sales, management accounting, financing of the enterprise). Namely, production risk, market risk, financial risk and corporate governance risk. Risk monitoring requires regular implementation of risk response plans in accordance with the current situation of the company. In addition, the monitoring process is essentially a systematic repetition of the already completed stages of risk identification, assessment and neutralization, which may require updating the risk information conducted at a certain point in time, reanalyzing the quality and quantity of risks and, if necessary, making new risk management decisions.
