Eagle\'s Syndrome and Fragmented Styloid Process: A Unique Post-extraction Complication—A Case Report
Orofacial and cervical pain commonly prompts consultations across oral maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology, and neurology due to its potential link with various pathological conditions. One such rare condition is Eagle's syndrome, typically caused by calcification of the stylohyoid ligament or elongation of the temporal styloid process. In this report, we discuss a unique case where Eagle's syndrome (ES) was triggered by a fractured styloid process following the extraction of a third molar. The unique and less-reported scenario delayed the diagnosis for a long time. The patient was successfully managed with conservative neuromodulatory therapy.
