From the Editor\'s Desk
Amidst an unsettling time around the world, we are publishing July-August issue of IJCCR with new and interesting case reports.Streptococcus agalactiae is being increasingly reported as a cause of various infections.I have personally come across two cases recently, one with meningoencephalitis and another one with lumbar discitis due to this organism.Unusual pathogens causing infections are always a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge.A rare case of Neisseria flava causing community-acquired pneumonia is described.Electrolyte abnormalities causing neurological manifestations are common in sodium disorders, hypomagnesemia causing seizure and posterior reversible encephalopathy is a rare presentation and is well described in this case report.Tetanus is becoming exceedingly rare, especially in private sector ICUs.Managing tetanus requires comprehensive ICU care and the art of managing this entity is getting lost due to lack of exposure in new trainees.Use of diazepam infusion in tetanus is described in detail in the case description.Acute liver failure due to acute viral hepatitis usually afflicts patient in their prime age and carries a high mortality in those with a fulminant course.Liver Assist device and liver transplant are not readily available.Use of plasma exchange is a modality increasingly being used in this disease entity.CytoSorb extracorporeal therapy is being increasingly used for various poisonings.Use of this modality for calcium channel blocker overdose is being described.Drug interactions have always been a fascinating case report. In this issue, interaction with rosuvastatin and ticagrelor leading to rhabdomyolysis and gastrointestinal bleeding has been described.Various innovative therapies have been tried for acute respiratory distress syndrome, one of which is nebulized heparin.A case report of use of this therapy in a case of snakebite-induced ARDS is described.Gestational choriocarcinoma presenting as postabortion sepsis is a rare obstetrical emergency described in a case report.Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis is a rare entity and is treated with whole lung lavage.A case series on a rare entity is always welcome and is heartening to see young intensivists performing such procedures.Timely peer review of the articles is immensely important for timely publication and bringing issues on date. Many attempts have been made by journals to incentivize the reviewers including an honorarium per article reviewed. The authors need to understand the prime delay in processing their article from the editorial side is in the peer review process.Another delay happens from the authors' side when comments by
