Preparation of plasma-based medicinal products in combating coagulation factors deficiencies by apheresis technique
The production of plasma-based medicinal products is vital in the treatment and management of coagulation factor deficiencies, immune diseases, and various severe medical conditions. This study focuses on the preparation of plasma-based products using the apheresis technique, with a particular emphasis on ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficacy throughout the production process. The research outlines the comprehensive methods employed in plasma fractionation, particularly the cold ethanol method, which remains a cornerstone in modern plasma-derived product manufacturing. The fractionation process not only enables the extraction of critical therapeutic components such as albumin, immunoglobulin G (IgG), and coagulation factors VIII and IX, but also involves stringent safety measures to ensure the removal and inactivation of potential viral contaminants. The paper highlights the importance of adhering to regulatory frameworks governing the production and administration of these plasma-derived products, ensuring they remain among the safest and most reliable biological therapies available today. The study underscores the critical role these products play in the management of coagulation disorders and other related deficiencies, thus contributing significantly to public health.
