Desafios da estrutura curricular anacrônica e os currículos de formação de professores no campo da Educação Física

This study aimed to analyze the considerations of a sample of teacher educators from the academic field regarding the main challenges in structuring teacher education curricula in the field of Physical Education. For this, seven educators from public Higher Education Institutions in São Paulo State – Brazil were interviewed through semi-structured interviews. After being transcribed, the interviews were submitted to content analysis. The data resulted in the organization of three categories: 1) Anachronistic curricular structure: fragmentation, confinement and distance between initial training and the reality of professional practice; 2) Curricular molecularization and the political clashes of the subareas of knowledge within the field of Physical Education; and, 3) Problem conjuncture and the importance of approximation between the fields of education and professional practice. It is concluded that, despite individual initiatives and proposals, there are still several structural challenges that directly affect the composition and structuring of the curricula of Physical Education teacher education, making them anachronistic and obsolete and far from the constitutive reality of professional practice. In this way, the construction of more assertive and contemporary public policies with the professional reality must permeate the transformations of curricula in the field of Physical Education teacher education.
