Design and Implementation of Radar Communication Integration Based on LoRa Modulation
In response to the increasing demand for radio spectrum resources in both military and civilian domains and to achieve the integration of radar and communication technologies, a radar-communication fusion design based on Long Range Radio (LoRa) modulation was proposed. Considering the distinct requirements of radar and communication systems as well as the complexity of signal processing, this design integrates pulse radar and communication waveforms using LoRa modulation. The radar and communication algorithms were subsequently simulated. A software-defined radio platform was then established by integrating an FPGA board with an AD9361 RF transceiver board, enabling the implementation of the radar-communication fusion algorithm. Finally, the validity of the integrated radar and communication algorithms based on LoRa modulation was confirmed through real-world measurements.
