Investigation of Secondary Hadronic Radiation Effects from GCRs at 1–10 GeV/n with High Energy Physics Model

Secondary hadron production from Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs) poses a significant challenge for deep space exploration. Current physics models for space radiation lag behind those used in relativistic heavy-ion collision studies, leading to substantial uncertainties in radiation damage predictions. Using the Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) model, we calculate the cross-sections of secondary hadrons (protons, neutrons, <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\pi^{\pm}, K^{\pm}$</tex>) from GCRs in the energy range of 1–10 GeV/n, and evaluate their single-event effects in a SRAM device using Geant4 based toolkit simulations.
