Driver Rostering at the Algiers Public Tramway Company: A Two-Levels Mathematical Formulation
In this paper, we address the problem of scheduling drivers at the Algiers Public Tram Company over a year time horizon. Given the important amount of data, we propose a two levels formulation where the master problem establish a master timetable over a year while the sub-problem assign the daily runs to the drivers by balancing the workload and respecting a minimum gap between successive runs. Experiments conducted on real data and using a commercial solver provide an optimised schedule of 137 drivers and 25,671 runs over a year time horizon.
