Feasibility Study for the Recovery of Waste Heat From Industrial Site for Internal Use

This study evaluates the amount of heat generated by the air cooling system of an internal combustion engine that can be recovered and used to power a heat exchanger for water heating purposes. The method employed is based on the cogeneration principle, utilizing advanced thermal concepts. The thermal recovery system was integrated with an API unit for full automation and simulated using TIA Portal. The results allow for the quantification of recoverable heat and demonstrate its efficient conversion into useful energy. This solution provides a viable pathway for optimizing the energy efficiency of internal combustion engines by maximizing the use of waste heat, thereby enhancing the overall system efficiency
