A Generalized M/G/c/c Stochastic Model for Road Traffic Flow
This paper presents a novel generalized stochastic queuing model for road traffic flow. Building upon the <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$M / G / c / c$</tex> model, we adapt it to capture the dynamics of both congested and free-flow traffic conditions. From the generalized model, we derive specific formulations and identify interesting key performances linked to both the model and these formulations. The derived key performances are then validated by traffic scenarios on a road section.
