Radio Network Optimization for Cellular Networks: Enhancing Dt Post-Processing Efficiency Through a Gis Application
The advent of 5G technology ushers in a new era of mobile networks, enabling significantly faster data transfers between users and connected devices. This advancement introduces a range of services and features that will be crucial for the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. IoT is increasingly relevant across various sectors, including smart cities, smart homes, and Industry 4.0. Many IoT systems rely on local communication methods, such as local networks, to connect to the Internet, which can constrain their wider deployment. Therefore, optimizing networks is crucial. This paper focuses on improving the radio aspects of GSM and LTE networks by developing a tool for extracting and visualizing data on radio coverage distribution and link quality on geographic maps. Data are gathered through field tests, classified, and then exported using TEMS INVESTIGATION for visualization and analysis in Mapinfo GIS software. This macro enables the post-processing team to generate comprehensive reports based on the analysis of field test results.
