Clock Synchronization in Wireless Sensor Networks with Inter-mittent Observations

This paper proposes a distributed clock synchronization algorithm based on adaptive consistency Kalman filtering (AKCFIO) to tackle the challenge of clock synchronization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) operating under intermittent observations and random interference. The algorithm combines the advantages of consistency theory and Kalman filtering, and dynamically adjusts the consistency gain by introducing an adaptive factor to enhance the robustness and adaptability of the algorithm under intermittent observation and data loss conditions. In this paper, the clock synchronization model under intermittent observation conditions is analyzed in detail, and the stability proof of the algorithm is derived. Simulation results show that the algorithm can quickly track the real clock parameters, and compared with the traditional Kalman consistency filtering algorithm, the AKCFIO algorithm exhibits higher synchronization accuracy and robustness in high packet loss and complex network environments, and effectively avoids the dispersion problem triggered by the traditional algorithm due to the large consistency gain.
