Abstract

The study addresses the urgent issue of the impact of digital transformation on the requirements for staff skills and competencies. In the context of constant market transformation and business adaptation to technological, economic and social challenges, digital technologies are a primary factor in the successful and competitive activity of an enterprise. Therefore, there is a need to revise traditional approaches to human resources management and focus on the development of staff’s digital literacy. The paper examines the key areas of digital competencies (information literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, security, and practical problem solving) and the skills that employees need to learn and develop. The stages of implementing digital skills in an organization are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the staff assessment system, its implementation algorithm and the definition of modern staff assessment techniques and methods, the transition from traditionally outdated tools such as questionnaires to the use of optimized online platforms. The author outlines eight levels of digital competencies, ranging from basic proficiency to specialized expertise, model using the 'MIT & Capgemini matrix' is proposed to assess a company’s digital maturity and transformation progress and designing strategies to improve digital maturity, namely: strategic digital training programs, development of a system of digital competencies, inclusion of digital competencies in personnel policy and hiring technically savvy personnel. The author proposes an eventual and comprehensive approach to minimize risks during the digital transformation of business processes. Accordingly, the introduction of new digital skills in the system of recruitment and evaluation of personnel in domestic business activities will create new competitive opportunities that will help the organization to reach a new level. The results of this study are of significant practical value for managers of enterprises, educational institutions, as well as for HR professionals interested in improving the digital literacy of staff and adapting to the modern requirements of the digital age.
